When you get a hole in a garment or other textile, there are times when you can use a patch and fabric adhesive to fix the hole in the fabric.
The video shows how to glue a patch on the wrong side of fabric on a torn pair of pants.
Important UPDATE: Use more fabric glue than I show in the video – it wasn’t enough and the patch enver adhered at all. I ended up whip-stitching it on and then reweaving it over the hole.
This same technique could be used to repair a small hole in almost any type of garment, though.
If there are a lot of frayed threads, you may still need to do some hand-sewing, and I’ll be posting a video to show how to do that (in about 2 hours, when the glue dries) so I don’t just leave you hanging mid-repair.
If you would like to read more about this, the post that explains how I finished this task is featured on my website here: https://www.stitchingitright.com/2018/08/how-to-use-fabric-adhesive-to-mend.html
