Choi’s Halva Recipe:
Ingredients
2 cups semolina flour or cream of wheat
10 cardamom pods crushed
1 tsp saffron threads soaked in quarter cup of warm milk
1 cup crushed walnuts/pistachio
I cup raisins or cranberries
4 pieces of jaggery melted in 5 cups boiling water (or 1 cup sugar)
1/2 cup ghee
Directions
Slow roast the flour for 15 minutes till it turns golden brown and you can smell it roasting
Add cardamoms and roast for few more
Add ghee nuts and raisins continue roasting
Add jaggery water
Cover and cook for ten minutes on low heat
Turn off heat and add saffron milk and mix well
Can be kept outside for couple of days
Enjoy!
