Sustainable future comes from the past | Mario Cucinella | TEDxMilano

Mario Cucinella presents the importance of a sustainable architecture for the future of the world. Mario Cucinella is the founder of Mario Cucinella Architects. With more of 20 years of professional practice, he developed a great experience in sustainable practices ranging from individual residences to urban master plans. In 2017 the American Institute of Architects (AIA) confers Mario Cucinella the Honorary Fellowship Award. In 2016 the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) bestowed upon him their prestigious International Fellowship (2016). For the 2018 Venice Biennale, Mario Cucinella is the curator of the Italian Pavilion.
In 2012, he founded Building Green Futures (BGF), a non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable development through green architecture and urban regeneration.
In 2015, Cucinella founded SOS – the School of Sustainability – a multi- disciplinary post-graduate programme in Bologna. SOS serves as a nexus for the exchange of knowledge for the building industry, the community and the profession.

Fondatore di Mario Cucinella Architects, sviluppa una grande esperienza nella progettazione architettonica, con particolare attenzione all’impatto ambientale degli edifici, e ottiene numerosi riconoscimenti internazionali. È curatore del Padiglione Italiano alla Biennale di Venezia del 2018 e fondatore della Building Green Future, un’organizzazione no-profit cha ha l’obiettivo di integrare architettura sostenibile e energie rinnovabili per migliorare le condizioni di vita e l’accesso alle risorse nei paesi in via di sviluppo. Nel 2015 costituisce S.O.S. – School of Sustainability, a Bologna, una scuola volta alla formazione di nuove figure professionali nel campo della sostenibilità.
