We started a SMALL balcony vegetable garden (3 square meters) on our rental apartment last spring. As a trained landscape designer in California, I would like to share 4 steps and some tips on how to set up an edible balcony garden at home, especially on how to maximize the space of a small space while meeting different functions requirements – grow, work, store, and relax. There are also some useful plant lists for beginners to get started. Hope this will inspire you to start in this early spring!
