Descendants of Sudan Jews hope to mend ties with Israel | AFP

In a Khartoum neighbourhood, gravestones marked in Hebrew are a reminder of the presence of Jews in early 20th century Sudan. The Israil family, descendants of members of that small community, hope that improved ties with the state of Israel will result in benefits and greater tolerance.
