Spokane will play host to a unique event this weekend aimed at promoting sustainability. The Mend-It Café will be held for anyone in the community who needs to get some clothes repaired.
Local seamstresses will be at the Shadle Library to mend any clothes that people bring in. Organizers say the point is to let people keep using their clothes instead of tossing them when they rip or tear. The seamstresses will also teach basic sewing skills so people can potentially fix their own clothes at home.
