Permaculture Design Course with Porvenir Design Costa Rica

By letter2self on March 26, 2024

The Permactulture Design Course (PDC) with Scott Gallant and Hugo Soto of Porvenir Design is a life changing two week course giving students the foundations of permaculture design. Learning how to read the landscape and envision a hopeful future, students walk away with the tools to create a more sustainable life in harmony with nature.

Porvenir Design is a permaculture design firm based in the Costa Rica. They teach courses, do consultations, project management, and implementation. They offer many free incredibly resources on their website!

I’ve been lucky enough to have Scott and Hugo as mentors over the years and they truly offer one of the best PDCs out there. I admire them because they not only talk the talk but they truly walk the walk, living out the permaculture ethics and principles in their everyday lives. I got to join their course in the summer of 2021 at Valle Escondido, a beautiful ecolodge in Monteverde, Costa Rica. This course was special as it was offered at a very affordable price and translated in Spanish and English to make it more accessible. The group was almost entirely Costa Ricans and it was a beautiful and transformative time! Highly recommend checking out Scott and Hugo’s work!

(we had to wear masks indoors to comply with Costa Rica’s health guidelines at the time)
