Turning a Backyard into a Farm Insperational Permaculture Video from Palestine

By letter2self on November 18, 2024

“If I Can Create Heaven Here, Why Do I Have To Wait Till I Die?”

This is what my friend Majd told me while he was explaining his dream gardening project. He thinks that the obstacle to independence is a limitation in imagination and not the lack of abilities.

Today as the world is living in a state of global crisis, uncertainty and instability, I started noticing that people are getting back to farming practices. I was wondering what was that attracted them to those practices in particular?
I decided to visit my environmentalist friend that is turning his own backyard into a farm by experimenting with Permaculture and alternative methods of gardening to try to get some answers and insights regarding this phenomenon.

I think the way to surviving the apocalypse or a system collapse is to take a path of independence and self-sustainability.
Because in times of uncertainty and economical instability the only ones who will remain certain and stable are the ones who are self-sustainable. They do not need to fully depend on today’s system to survive, but on what their hands produce.
